About the Project
Project Background
Edgewater is one of the City of Miami’s fastest-growing urban neighborhoods. As the area continues to evolve, there is an opportunity to strengthen its neighborhood identity and create a more connected, walkable, and welcoming public realm.
Initiated by Commissioner Pardo, the Edgewater Neighborhood Strategic Master Plan is a community-driven effort to help shape future investments in placemaking and neighborhood improvements. Building on initiatives already underway, the project invites residents, businesses, and stakeholders to participate in a conversation about Edgewater’s future and help ensure that investments reflect the neighborhood’s unique character and community priorities.
Project Goals
The plan will focus on creating a safer, more connected, livable, and resilient Edgewater by improving walking and biking, connections to surrounding neighborhoods, waterfront access, public spaces, neighborhood identity and future transit opportunities. This is not a zoning study and will not change property rights or address building height, density, intensity, or development rights. Community input will help identify priorities and create a shared vision and roadmap for Edgewater’s future.
